Drive unit

The drive unit is the core power source of the conveyor belt system. Its function is to transmit the power from the electric motor to the drive roller via components such as a reducer and a coupling. By leveraging the friction between the roller and the conveyor belt, the drive unit keeps the conveyor belt running continuously, thereby enabling the transportation of materials.

After the motor starts, the high-speed rotational power is transmitted to the reducer via a coupling. The reducer reduces the rotational speed and increases the torque according to its gear ratio, then transfers the power to the drive roller. The drive roller relies on the friction between its surface and the conveyor belt to keep the belt moving continuously, thereby achieving material transportation. Meanwhile, the control system precisely adjusts the motor’s speed and torque based on actual operating conditions, ensuring that the entire conveying process remains stable and highly efficient.

The conveyor roller is a common material-handling device characterized by its simple structure, high reliability, and ease of use and maintenance. A conveyor roller mainly consists of components such as the drive roller, frame, support brackets, and drive unit. From the perspective of drive mechanism, conveyor rollers can be categorized into powered rollers, non-powered rollers, and electric rollers. According to their layout configuration, they can be classified into horizontal conveyors, inclined conveyors, and curved conveyors.

Rollers are crucial components of belt conveyors, serving to support the conveyor belt and the materials being transported. They help reduce the running resistance of the conveyor belt and ensure that the belt’s sag does not exceed specified limits, thereby guaranteeing smooth operation. The roller structure consists of a roller body, bearings, seals, and other parts. According to their application, rollers can be categorized into types such as trough-shaped, parallel, and self-aligning. They are widely used in industries including mining, ports, and power plants.
